Spiritual fitness relates to a sense of connection to something greater than oneself and a search for meaning in life. This includes defining and understanding one’s purpose (an understanding one's place in the world and having a sense of direction), values/ethics (living in alignment with personal beliefs and principles), connectedness (feeling a sense of belonging and connection, whether with people, nature, or God), and inner peace (the achievement of a state of calmness and contentment, often through practices like meditation, prayer, or mindfulness). Being spiritually fit provides comfort in times of sorrow, strengthens resilience, and fosters a sense of joy and fulfillment.
